3 minThis mini audio tour will explore Mackintosh in Maryhill and the surrounding area, talking about Maryhill’s past, how the canal links with the industrial revolution which impacted Mackintosh’s career and how he is celebrated here today. Not only did Mackintosh create extraordinary examples of architecture here, but these projects helped to shape and influence his later career, given that at the time he was still a young trainee working for the architectural firm Honeyman and Keppie. At the time of working on the early projects discussed, Mackintosh was just a young man in his very early 30’s, and had not yet made partner at the firm (this eventually happened in 1901).
