Hi there, my name is Cameron and I work for Sustrans, the charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle. I support volunteers help people walk and cycle through guided rides and walks, events, and bike skills sessions.

We have volunteers across Glasgow who helped check the route and we did this for Doors Open Day last year as a ride. We were planning something similar this year but have had to change with the current covid-19 situation.

We are happy to share some of the routes we know about and hope you can find them useful as well - there is a lot of history on them and a lot is hidden away!

Overview

Explore a brief tour of the history of transport in Glasgow - from ferries to steamers, railways to the Finnieston Crane. We can't cover everything in this tour but we thought we would pick out a few things on a route suitable for walking or cycling along and for physically distancing. We hope you enjoy - there is a lot of history on these routes and many are hidden away in plain sight!
