Overview

⚽ Discover the origins of Scottish football; the birth of Queen's Park FC; the early cup finals and internationals; the three Hampden Park grounds; and Scotland's pioneering contribution to the growth of the modern game, which deserves to be better known and celebrated. Walk the ground and see the places where much of it happened.

⚽ This 110 minute tour starts from Queen's Park Recreation Ground and takes a route around the three Hampden Parks, finishing outside the present stadium. It is aimed at football fans with an interest in history. It is fairly detailed and so is probably unsuitable for children or younger fans.

⚽ Also try the optional and light-hearted football mystery quest game as you progress around the walking tour. It features a challenge at each tour stop.

⚽ This walking tour was produced in 2020 for the Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival. The Glasgow Building Preservation Trust co-ordinates this annual festival about the city's architecture, culture, and heritage.
