Welcome to the Abarta audio guide to Loop Head. This guide, produced by Abarta Heritage on behalf of Loop Head Tourism, helps to tell the story of the Loop Head Peninsula – a wonderful and unique landscape, where a thin finger of land points deep into the roaring Atlantic Ocean. The Loop Head peninsula is located at the furthest extremity of County Clare, at the mouth of the majestic River Shannon.

This beautiful landscape is soaked with stories of folklore, shipwrecks, superstitions and traditions. Our audio guide will introduce you to some of the characters from the area, who will tell you their own tales of life on the Loop.
